I just wanted to say “Thank-you” to everybody whose following my blog & liking my stories. I also want to thank everybody for encouraging me to live my best life and enjoy all the adventures the world has to offer! You guys have been so great! Thank-you. Thank-you. Thank-you!
I hope every one has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
I had a blast hanging out with some crazy people!!! It was an impromptu gathering at a local watering hole with some friends and co-workers. Oh man! My cheeks are still acheing from all the laughter.
People posing for silly pictures. Wacky tales & anecdotes told. Face Time. Endless drinks. Good food. And the waiter spilled a tray full of drinks at the table near us.
It was exactly what I needed. I am so thankful for moments like these, fun, positive, crazy friends. I cannot stress the importantance of simply hanging out with fun people and having a good time! Whether planned or not, make sure you’re having fun, hanging out with friends, and laughing.
Working out to some old school Janet Jackson this morning when her song, “Control”, started erupting through my ear buds. I’m still a huge Janet fan, but this song in particular always gets me motivated. What I love about this song is that it is a Declaration!
“This is a story about Control. My Control. Control of what I say. Control of what I do.
And this time I’m gonna do it my way.”
She knew what she wanted to do, how she wanted to live, how she wanted to be treated, and she declared it in this song. Nobody was going to tell her what to do or how to live. She controlled her career, her personal life, and her joys. She didn’t rely on anyone else to make her happy. Nor did she work her ass off to make someone else’s dreams come true. She knew what it was going to take to achieve her goals. She declared it. And she went after her dreams!
I believe it is important to declare our dreams, our goals. Write them down. Make your ideas and thoughts tangible so you can see them on daily basis. Declare who you are, how you want to live, what you want to do, and what you’re willing to do to achieve your goals. You must be clear and specific. You must work at it everyday. And never take your eyes off your prize for you may find yourself working you ass off for someone else.
This song, “Control”, motivates me to stay focused on my goals. This song encourages me to live my dream life.
What is your declaration? What are your goals? What are your dreams? Are you living your dreams? I want to know. I hope I’ve encouraged you to go after your dreams! Please feel free to tell what you’re doing to accomplish your plans. I’d love to hear from you.
Holy Sh#@*t!!!! Just had the most relaxing massage. I can’t even remember the last time I treated myself to a massage. I highly recommend it! Seriously people, treat yourself! We work so damn hard taking care of our spouses, parents, children, etc. We work all day. And go to school. We deal with so much BS. Take a moment and give this to yourself!
I spent two glorious days in San Francisco. It was exactly what I needed to restore my spirit! The first day was spent at a motivational/inspirational event. It was amazing. I learned a lot. I experienced a lot.
The event started with about 45 minutes of Kundalini Yoga. It was my first time practicing this type of yoga. Or any type of yoga for that matter. I tried yoga at my gym, but that was more exercise-based. Kundalini Yoga was about quieting my mind and spirit. It was about finding that inner strength. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The rest of the night was spent discovering and realizing what was truly holding me back; keeping me from achieving my goals. What a powerful night! It was eye-opening, and at times, a hard pill to swallow. What I learned most was that I have the power to live my dream life. However, I gave away my power/my strength by blaming others for my misfortunes. The truth is I have no one to blame, but me. I must accept responsibility. I am responsible for my downfall. But guess what! I am also responsible for my achievements. I am responsible for creating an awesome life! I can make it happen!
My second day in San Francisco was spent enjoying what the beautiful city had to offer. I spent the day relaxing. I walked around the downtown area. So many fantastic shops, restaurants, and cafes. The best lunch I had in a very long time was spent dining in the outdoor patio area of this wonderful cafe. The weather was perfect (about 72 degrees). Traffic wasn’t hectic. It was just enough to provide ample opportunity for people-watching.
This is just the beginning of my adventures. I plan on doing a lot more! I’m so excited to finally feel like I’m living! It feels so good to be unstuck!
